Photos on Instagram

I have two Instagram accounts that have photos of the natural world .

They are

Blubotany

Rachel_dymott – this one has a title of Nature table explorer.

Most photos are taken on my phone but I am experimenting with my Nikon SLR to improve images.

Please have a look at the pages if you are interested in nature and wildlife.

Looking for table

I’m on a mission today looking for a small table hopefully a gem will waiting in the charity shops. This will become my permanent nature table . Each week I will photograph the table with information about its exhibits. Most of the items will be weekly finds but there will also be favourite finds from the past … special treasures. Hopefully the first table will be tomorrow .This photo was taken on a roundabout in the centre of Northampton and proves that even sitting in a queue there are gorgeous things to see if you are looking .

Snails on the move

A walk around Rushden lake this morning was punctuated by travelling snails and slugs. These were all sizes and colours , determined to cross the gritty path ( I thought they wouldn’t cross grit, so much for that deterrent in the garden) they were actually moving at a pace (for snails) they were very focussed !

Blossom pigeons

It’s another blue sky morning, there is a wrap around sound system of birds singing. These pigeons are relaxing in the plum blossom in the garden occasionally nibbling it. They look totally happy! (Photo from upstairs bedroom not too clear )

Sitting in the garden

Amazing day , warm , fragrant and full of noisy bird songs. Blue tits have decided to nest in the terracotta bird house used last year by bumble bees and have been in and out all day. Two red kites have been swooping overhead. The chickens ( we have seven) have enjoyed the grass cuttings from the lawn and several warm dust baths. There is a definite feeling of growing everywhere you look.
